What is considered a severe speeding violation for commercial drivers?

Most laws hold truck drivers to a higher standard of safety, given how dangerous their vehicles can be if driven unsafely.  Driving even only 15 miles per hour over the speed limit can amount to a severe speeding violation for commercial truck drivers.  Depending on the violation, truck drivers can face stiff fines and even the loss of their commercial drivers license (CDL) if they are given speeding tickets or another commercial traffic violation.
