The Driver's License Point System in Indiana

How Many Points Before Your License is Suspended?

Indiana, like most states, assesses a point value for each conviction of certain moving violations. The point value relates to the seriousness of the offense in posing a risk to traffic safety. Point values for offenses range from zero to eight points, depending on the violation. Although these infractions are reported to your insurer, the accrued Illinois points may not have much significance because, when deciding on rate increases, most insurers apply their own point system.

Suspensions

A hearing will be set for license suspension if a driver is assessed 18 points or more within a 24 month period.
