DUI Bail Schedules for California Counties

Every county in California sets its own minimum bail guidelines for DUI violations. These bail amounts can vary substantially.  For example, minimum bail for a first offense DUI without aggravating factors is $2,000 in Stanislaus county, $5,000 in Los Angeles and San Francisco Counties, and $10,000 in San Joaquin county. Obviously the more complicated and serious the DUI charge, the higher the bail. For example, expect to pay $100,000 bail for a DUI with bodily injury, particularly if there is one or more priors. Once you have made all required court appearances, your bail is returned to you minus a small administrative fee. Payments made to a bail bond agency (limited to 10% of bail in California) will not be returned. Below are the bail schedules for DUIs in California’s most populous counties.
